MANILA, Philippines — Classes are suspended in some areas in Luzon on Monday, October 28, due to the damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).

According to the latest report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, 158 cities and municipalities have been placed under a state of calamity following the impact of the storm.

In the Bicol Region, 78 areas have been declared under a state of calamity, followed by 63 in Calabarzon, 13 in Eastern Visayas, and one area each in the Ilocos Region, Soccsksargen, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the National Capital Region.

Meanwhile, the death toll from Severe Tropical Storm Kristine has reached 100, according to a report from the Armed Forces of the Philippines on Sunday.
