World boxing icon and former Sen. Manny Pacquiao has congratulated the 1Pacman party-list for its staying power that has enabled the passage of important laws for sports development and the fight against poverty.
He commended the party during a meeting in General Santos City.

Pacquiao also welcomed new 1Pacman nominees Milka Romero, sports leader, entrepreneur and 1Pacman chairman; Bobby Pacquiao, former professional boxer turned civic and political leader; and Sheila May “Shey” Sakaluran Mohammad, youth leader and Manila City director of Manila Muslim affairs.
Article continues after this advertisementPacquiao noted the country’s gains with the service of 1Pacman party-list. Under the leadership of former Deputy House Speaker and 1Pacman party-list Rep. Michael “Mikee” Romero, over 1,000 bills were filed. Fruits of these were 102 laws, including the Philippine Sports Training Center Act or Republic Act No. 11214.

Article continues after this advertisementAmong 1Pacman’s authored and co-authored laws are the Universal Health Care Act (RA 11223) and the 4Ps Act (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino, RA 11310).
“Mga kampeon para sa sports at kapakanan ng mga mamamayan ang kailangang manatili sa Kongreso. (Champions for sports and citizens’ concerns are needed in Congress),” Pacquiao said.
