MANILA, Philippines — Senior citizens in Manila will have their yearly allowance doubled starting next year, Mayor Honey Lacuna announced in a statement issued on Thursday.
The annual allowance will be raised from P6,000 to P12,000, according to Manila City Ordinance No. 9081.

“We have set aside this fund with the best interest of our senior citizens in mind. We hope that this amount will be able to provide them some relief as the cost of medicines and healthy food continue to rise,” she added.
