MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. gave over P52 million in financial aid and over 1,000 boxes of family food packs to residents of Nueva Vizcaya who were hit by recent typhoons.
P50 million came from the Office of the President, while P2.5 million was from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Article continues after this advertisementIn his speech during the turnover ceremony on Friday, Marcos assured typhoon victims that the government would continuously assist them until they recover from the destruction brought by recent torrential rains and flooding.

This will not run out. Don’t worry. Even if the typhoons come one after another, we have resources, as I mentioned, and we will continue producing these relief goods. And as long as there are requests, we will keep providing them,” he added.
The combined effects of cyclones Kristine, Leon, Marce, Nika, Ofel, and Pepito affected 8,168 families, or 27,726 persons, in Nueva Vizcaya, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Pepito, meanwhile, left 2,824 houses damaged, of which 284 were totally destroyed and 2,540 partially wrecked.
