MANILA, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) confiscated P5.7 million worth of illegal liquified petroleum gas (LPG) equipment in Santa Maria town in Bulacan province.

The CIDG said in a statement that it served a search warrant on Marilao Industrial Compound in Barangay Mahabang Parang on Thursday, Nov. 21, and seized compressors, LPG cylinders and pumps, refilling hoses and machines, storage tanks, and weighing scales, among others. It noted that the value of the confiscated tools is P5,708,455.

Regional Trial Court-Third Judicial Region Branch 21 issued the search warrant, which indicated that the operation of the establishment violated Republic Act Nos. 623 and 5700, which mandate and regulate the use of duly marked containers, including containers of compressed gasses.

CIDG Director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said, “While no arrests have been made, we assure the public that efforts to locate and apprehend the suspects are ongoing, and we urge them to surrender voluntarily.”

“This operation highlights our commitment to enforcing regulations against unauthorized LPG activities to ensure public safety,” he added.

All confiscated equipment have been transferred to the custody of CIDG’s Regional Field Unit in Central Luzon for documentation and further investigation.
