Far Eastern University pinned a first loss on University of Santo Tomas on Saturday, with a 25-21, 25-23, 25-23 victory boosting the Lady Tamaraws’ chances of bagging a twice-to-beat privilege in the 2024 Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Preseason Championship at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Proving to be more effective as an opposite hitter, Jean Asis scored 12 points, a chunk of them when Far Eastern thwarted repeated attempts by the Golden Tigresses to extend their opening Pool F match.
Article continues after this advertisement“We have always had a hard time beating them,” Asis, a natural middle blocker, said in Filipino. “This is very sweet because we beat them in straight sets. I guess we did what we had to do.”
