MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday issued a subpoena to Vice President Sara Duterte regarding her alleged assassination threat against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Department of Justice (DOJ) Undersecretary Margarita Gutierrez disclosed this during a public briefing.

Duterte might face libel, defamation, or grave threats charges as a result of her statements. Authorities are also considering filing a disbarment case against the Vice President, she added.

However, Duterte on Monday claimed that her statement was only “maliciously taken out of logical context.”
